Mrs. Rawlings urges NDC to revive moral values and ensure unity

Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, President of the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) and a former First Lady, has called on the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure that unity, truth and honesty prevailed.

She made the call when addressing a regional meeting of executives of the movement at Fijai near Takoradi at the weekend.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings said moral values were necessary for the development of the country and that no country had ever developed without justice.

She said unity in the NDC was of great concern because a disunited party could not develop the country.

She said the party should welcome divergent views because power to the people meant to allow the people to be critical and to point out what was going wrong.

Mr Berrick Namburi, Campaign Coordinator of the Former First Lady, said the FONKAR and the NDC had to respect each other and join forces to defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 elections.

He urged members and supporters of the party who had attained age 18 to register and vote to ensure victory for the NDC.
