Communities in Upper West to be connected to electricity
About 400 communities in the Upper West Region are to be connected to the national electricity grid to open them up for development.
Mr. Cezar Kale, the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister who announced this while addressing Muslims during the celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr Festival at Wa, said work would soon start on the project.
The Eid-ul-Fitr a festival celebrated by Muslims every year to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan which entails 30 days of fasting.
Mr. Kale congratulated all Muslims for successfully completing the one month exercise and said Islam was an admirable religion that teaches a complete way of life which when followed benefited mankind and society at all times.
“Muslims should therefore continue to play a major role in guiding society at all times”, he said.
He also commended Muslims for their effort in maintaining peace and unity in the country, adding that it was the hope of President John Atta Mills that they have a joyous celebration and a brighter and prosperous future in fulfillment of his “Better Ghana” agenda.
