Ghana stocks fall on Ecobank Transnational loss
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell 3.42 points to close at 1,128.26 points from 1,131.68 points.
The loss brings the year-to-date change to 12.83 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, went down by 11.31 points to 1,057.34 points from 1,068.65 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 5.73 per cent.
There were six price changes – equally shared between the gainers and losers.
Cocoa Processing Company gained GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.03, Ghana Oil Company was up GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.32 and Produce Buying Company added GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.30.
On the flip side, Tullow Oil Plc shed GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢31.02, State Insurance Company fell GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.51 and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated lost GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.13.
Market Capitalisation was lower at GH¢48,005.63 million from GH¢48,093.05 million.
More than 8.2 million shares valued at more than GH¢2.4 million exchanged hands during the session.
