Banker calls for culture of loan re-payment in Ghana
Mr. Kwame Baffo-Emmin, Operations Manager of Fiagya Rural Bank at Nkoranza, has urged loan beneficiaries of banking institutions to pay back on schedule to enable others to benefit to improve their economic activities.
He deplored the attitude of some loan beneficiaries to refuse to pay back the facility, which had adversely affected the finances of some banking institutions.
“Good and trustworthy customers are people who continuously do business with the bank and repay loans granted them on schedule, he said, emphasizing that such persons build strong confidence and trust with the Bank” he said.
Mr. Baffo-Emmin was addressing a meeting at Nkoranza to educate farmers on credit facilities under the Community Rural Development Project (CBRDP) to help them to expand their farms.
He disclosed that funds had been made available under the Project at the bank to help farmers go into fish farming, livestock, poultry, bee-keeping and grass-cutter rearing.
The Operations Manager advised the farmers to form groups and save with the bank in order to benefit from the facility.
Mr. Baffo-Emmin called on the farmers to seek advice from the management of the bank for the necessary guidelines on the usage of the money granted.
