Ghana Rubber Estate Limited to provide GH¢70,000 for development in host communities
The Ghana Rubber Estate Limited on Saturday promised an annual package of GH¢70,000 for various development projects in its seven host communities.
Mr. Joseph Garbrah, Human Resource and Administrative Manager for GREL, who announced this at a send off ceremony for Mr. Marc Genot, the out-going Managing Director (MD) said the package was aside other developmental projects proposed to improve the livelihood of people in its operating areas.
The send-off ceremony was hosted by Association of Chiefs on Whose Land GREL Operates (ACLANGO) in appreciation to Mr. Genot for his enormous contribution towards the socio-economic development of the people since his assumption in October 1, 2004.
Mr. Garbrah mentioned that GREL has provided 13 schools including kingdergartens and 69 scholarships to indigenes up to the university level.
Awulae Agyefi Kwame 11, Chairman of ACLANGO, lauded the contributions of the out-going MD which had greatly improved the general lifestyle of most people in the company’s catchment area.
He mentioned some projects undertaken by the company as the provision of clinics, places of convenience, Teachers bungalows and the construction of a secretariat for ACLANGO.
Mr. Genot expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people in the area for their cooperation during difficult times.
“Continue to exhibit this kind of understanding and cooperation for the promotion and development your communities”, he added.
