Goodluck Jonathan on state visit to Ghana
The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will make a one-day official state visit to Ghana this week, a statement from the Nigerian government October 4, 2011 has said.
President Jonathan will visit Rwanda and Ethiopia before heading to Ghana as he departs from the shores of Nigeria today October 5, 2011.
“President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will depart Abuja, tomorrow, on official visits to Rwanda and Ethiopia and a State visit to Ghana,” said the statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, on Tuesday, October 4.
During the visit, the statement said President Jonathan will hold bilateral talks with Ghana’s President John Attah-Mills and it is expected that African and global issues will feature in their discussions.
President Jonathan is expected to return to Abuja on Saturday, October 8, 2011, it adds.
Nigeria on October 1, 2011 celebrated its 51st Independence Anniversary.
