Teachers appeal to govt for motivational packages

The Akwatia Local of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has at the end of its third biennial delegates’ conference, appealed to the government to motivate teachers to enable them give of their best.

They asked the government to provide houses through “mortgaged facilities” for teachers as a way of motivation.

Government, they also said should also provide the needed infrastructure to the public schools for better education in keeping with its “Better Ghana Agenda”.

The conference, which was held on Friday, elected Mr Daniel Yaw Segbedzi, Chairman, Mr Saeed Masawood, Vice Chairman, Mr Francis Twum Jnr, Secretary, Mr Eric Ohene, Assistant Secretary, Ms Natasha Akosua Owusua, treasurer and Ms Florence E.K. Aku as GNAT- Ladies representative.

All were elected unopposed.
