National Lottery Authority temporally withdraws two lottery products
The National Lottery Authority (NLA) on Tuesday said it was temporally withdrawing the ‘Mobi-Game jackpot’ and ‘Mobi-Game 2sure’ products.
The move is to enable the authority to repackage the two products to make it more rewarding and exciting to its customers.
Mr Regan Twum-Barimah, Brands Strategy and Communication Manager, told the GNA that the decision was to enable the Authority to also meet the changing technological forms currently taking place in the lottery business.
Mr Twum-Barimah said a date for the re-launch of the games would be communicated to the public soon.
Throwing more light on the issue, Mr Twum-Barimah said the Authority would have its last draw for the two games on Friday October 14.
He said all text numbers sent to the Mobi-Game jackpot short code 1384 and Mobi-Game 2sure short code 1383 after the official closing date on Thursday October 13 would be rejected by short the code platform (the system).
According to him, the issue had been discussed among the telecommunication companies and therefore the two short codes of the games would not be available after Friday October 14.
Mr Twum-Barimah appealed to players of the two games to use any of the authority’s automated products.
Launched in 2008, the Mobi-Game 2sure is a lottery product patronised through texting. One player could text five numbers out from one to 90.
Mobi Game jack pot, outdoored three years ago, is drawn on Fridays only, with players selecting six numbers from one to 49.
