Court remands two accused drug dealers
A Kumasi Circuit Court has ordered two alleged narcotic drug dealers to be held in prison custody.
Noah Kwabena Nyibina, 30, and Kwame Anokye, 32, were caught with seven parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
Their pleas were not taken and would re-appear on October 31.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Doris Amewu told the court presided over by Justice D.W.P. Amedior that they were arrested on September 25, at about 1130 hours by the Suame Police in Kumasi, following a tip-off.
The accused had concealed the dried leaves in compartments of two travelling bags they were carrying.
They claimed, one “K”, a friend at Juaboso in the Western Region, was the source.
The prosecution said samples had been sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory in Accra for examination.
