National House of Chiefs pleads with doctors to call off strike
The National House of Chiefs (NHC) has pleaded with the striking doctors to rescind their decision and resume work on compassionate grounds to save lives.
They also appealed to the Government and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to take appropriate steps to resolve the grievances of the doctors relating to their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).
This was contained in a press release signed by the President of the (NHC) Wulugu Naba Pugansoa Naa Professor John S. Nabila, in Kumasi on Monday.
It said the expectation of the chiefs is that the Government, FWSC and the Ghana Medical Association would soon arrive at a compromise on the issues at stake, which would be acceptable to all the parties.
