Muammar Gaddafi wounded, captured – Report

Ousted Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi has been captured, an official of the National Transitional Council has told the Reuters news service today October 20, 2011.

According to Reuters, Gaddafi was captured and wounded in both legs.

“He’s captured. He’s wounded in both legs … He’s been taken away by ambulance,” senior NTC military officer Abdel Majid told Reuters by telephone.

Gaddafi’s 42-year old rule came under fire in February 2011 when an uprising in the second biggest town in Libya,  Benghazi began calling for his removal.

What started as a demonstration in the opposition town, became a an international conflict involving the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO).

Scores have been killed and wounded in the conflict.

    may his soul rest in perfect peace.He is really an African king.But the question one may ask is,why did NATO decide to champion the whole case?What role did the AU play on this?We need our African leaders to be more proactive.The NTC members should not forget that they are next to be attacked.Africans must learned to rise up and fight for our rights.
