Educationist ask students to be focused
Professor Kwasi Akwafo Adarkwa, the immediate Past Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has urged students to be focused and have a positive attitude towards their course of studies.
They should also be enthusiastic about what they set out to do and plan their lifestyle to be able to have a clear sense of direction.
Professor Adarkwa was speaking at the 36th matriculation ceremony of the Christian Service University College in Kumasi.
“The winning attitude,” was the theme for the occasion.
He advised the new students to lean as many things as possible which might seem irrelevant for them now but may become a source of inspiration for them in future.
The former Vice-Chancellor called on them to participate in all university activities, make new friends or contacts and be nice to everybody they meet.
Professor Emmanuel Frempong, President of the University College stressed the need for the students to work assiduously so that they would excel academically, morally and spiritually.
He said the college holds dear to its core values, which are faith, integrity and scholarship and would not compromise on them under any circumstances.
A total of 463 students, 257 males and 206 women were registered to pursue courses in Business Studies, Communications, Theology and Computer Science.
