Nuru Pardie powers Ghana at Tour du Faso cycling tournament
Ghana’s Nuru Pardie Alhassan won the Best African Team prize during stage two of the Tour du Faso cycling tournament underway in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The Ghanaian cyclist placed at a respectable ninth position out of the 90 cyclists who participated in the 141.5 km race from Yako to Zinaire in 3:36:51.
The feat by the veteran cyclist powered Team Ghana to the sixth position on the Team Classification from their earlier 12th position.
According to a source by the Ghana Cyclist Association (GCA), copied to GNA Sports in Accra, the Team Ghana secured a place in the lucrative money zone after a sterling performance of 156.5 km from Linonghin to Tenkodogo.
Henry Tetteh Djangmah finished 12th whilst Aminu Mohammed placed 28th from a pool of 86 cyclists that participated.
The cyclists also upped their average speed to 45 km per hour.
Over 240 cyclists from 30 countries are participating in the tourney which ends on October 30.
