SME owners undergo three -day training
Twenty-five Small and Medium Scale (SME’s) entrepreneurs have undergone a three- day seminar in Accra, which aimed at providing them with basic skills in management and accounting practices.
The seminar was organised by Mensa Dua and Co Limited, a management consultancy firm on the theme: “Acquiring Knowledge for Business Growth.”
The participants drawn from pharmaceutical companies, orphanage homes and sachet water producers were taken through development of business plans, customer relations, tax administration, proposal writing and administrative procedures.
They were also exposed to the processes of accessing internal and external funding, internal control measures, procurement and inventory control and non-current asset management.
Mrs Catherine Krobo Edusei, Managing Director of Eden Tree Ghana Limited, an agro- business entity told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the seminar had given her an insight into business development and was looking forward to apply the skills acquired.
She asked owners of SME’s to take advantage of similar training opportunities in future.
Mr Christopher Anangbonu Maning Director of Mensa Dua and Co, told the GNA that, the decision to develop the programme was influenced by the needs of SME’s after years of serving the entrepreneurs as auditors and management consultants.
Mr Anangbonu said the participants have acquired the needed skills that would help them develop effective business plans and position them well for higher productivity.
