Eastern Regional Minister expresses worry about bad nature of roads
Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, the Eastern Regional Minister, has called on the Ghana Highway Authority and the Department of Feeder Roads to help solve the poor road networks in the region.
Dr Apea-Kubi said the situation whereby road contractors abandoned their projects while the road continued to deteriorate would no long be tolerated and called on officials of the road sector to help make the lives of people in the region more bearable.
Dr Apea-Kubi said this when addressing the staff of the Ghana Highway Authority and the Department of Feeder Roads as part of his familiarization tour of communities and departments in the New Juaben Municipality.
He urged road engineers to be professional in their work and to resist the pressures from politicians who call on them to donate to their parties.
Dr Apea-Kubi also paid a courtesy call on the Eastern Regional Chief Imam and the Council of Muslim Chiefs and Imams at the Koforidua Zongo.
He appealed to the Chief Imam and the Zongo Chiefs to pray for peace and unity during the coming elections.
Alhaji Sulemana Salifu Ahmed, the Secretary to the Chief Imam, appealed for the tarring of the roads in the Zongo community and the provision of streetlights.

I agree with you honorable. Its high time contractors are better monitored to keep them up to task. Best wishes and counting on you for the reconstruction of the Achiase -Oda road which is not in a good state now.
