Ghana appoints 14 coaches for seven national teams
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed 14 coaches for seven national teams following series of interviews for vacant positions.
The appointments which include coaches and assistants are to fill positions at the CHAN Team, Black Meteors, Black Satellites, Black Starlets, Black Queens, Black Princesses and Black Maidens.
The 14 were sieved from 25 shortlisted applicants by the GFA’s technical panel.
According to GNA Sports sources at the GFA, former Black Queens Coach, Mas-aud Didi Dramani will take charge of the Black Maidens (U-17 Women) with Evans Adotey as his assistant.
The Black Princesses (U-20 Women) will be manned by United States-based Robert Sackey to be assisted by former Maidens deputy trainer, Edna Yeke.
The senior female team, the Black Queens has been handed over to James Kuuku Dadzie who recently made waves with the Princesses. The former national football star will be assisted by Yusif Basigi.
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak trainer, Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has been offered the Black Starlets (U-17 Men) job. Another former Kotoko Coach, Isaac Adade Boateng will assist in the position which remain both first at the national level.
Orlando Wellington has been maintained as the Black Satellites (U-20 Men) coach. He will be assisted by former Black Stars captain, Charles K. Akunnor.
Veteran trainers, Malik Jabir and Abdul Karim Zito are the handlers of the Black Meteors (Men’s Olympic) team.
Black Stars assistant coach, James Kwasi Appiah who recently won gold for Ghana at the All African Games in Maputo with the Black Meteors has been appointed head of the CHAN (Local Black Stars) team. He would be supported by Dauda S. Lutterrodt.
