Missodey, Adu Asare vie for Ghana Olympic Committee Presidency as elections start today
Veteran administrator Emile Missodey and Kwadwo Adu Asare are set to contest for the highest seat of President at the elective General Assembly of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) on Saturday, October 29, in Accra.
The duo will vie for the seat to be vacated by incumbent Benson Tongo Baba, who will not be seeking re-election after 12-years at the helm of affairs.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports has it that the two persons filed their nominations as at the October 26 deadline.
Incumbent Frank Yaw Appiah is the sole contender for the First Vice President with Elizabeth King also vying for the Second Vice President.
The Third Vice President is a two-horse race between Sam Pee Yalley and Reverend Emmanuel Nikoi, long standing chairman of the Netball Association of Ghana.
Another applicant for the Vice President position is Dr Kobina Felix Frimpong, but he was not specific on his intended preference.
The Secretary General has Mohammed Sahnoon of the Cycling Federation as the sole contender, Alhaji Gado Ibrahim is vying for the Assistant Secretary General position with Johnson Clifford Aboagye vying for the Treasurer position.
Saka Acquaye and Angelina Ocran are contending for the position of Assistant Treasurer while Nana Owusu Ansah, Patience Yeboah, Cecilia Mensah, Ben K. Johnson and Solomon Offei Darko are the contestants of the Executive members position.
