Ghana allocates $250m of $3b Chinese-loan facility for landing sites
An amount of $250 million has been designated under the $3 billion-Chinese loan facility for the development of habours and landing sites.
One of the sites under this project will be the Dixcove landing site, Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister of Food and Agriculture told Parliament on Thursday.
The Minister, responding to a question on when the construction of the proposed landing site for fishing boats at Dixcove will begin, said Dixcove is one of the 14 landing sites that the Ministry has planned to develop.
He said the Ministry has already done a master plan, businesses plan, feasibility survey, design and engineering drawings, bill of quantities and an environmental impact assessment for the landing site.
“Madam Speaker, Chinese construction firms have already expressed interest to participate in the project. Once the financial agreement for the Chinese loan is concluded, construction work will begin,” he told the House.
