Sefwi-Wiawso Assembly confirms MCE

The Sefwi-Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Monday confirmed a 57-year-old educationist, Mr. Lawrence Ackah Santana, as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.

Forty-two out of the forty-five members of the assembly present, voted for Mr. Santana to confirm him as the new MCE after the President revoked the appointment of Mr. Stephen Kofi Wilks Mensah as MCE early this year.

Before his nomination and confirmation, Mr. Santana was the Sefwi-Wiawso Municipal Coordinating Director for the National Youth Council.

Earlier, 41 out of 43 assembly members voted for Mr. Henry Affum to become Presiding Member for the assembly.

Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, commended the assembly members for confirming the MCE and electing the Presiding Member

Mr Aidoo asked the assembly members to cooperate with the new officers for the development of the area.

Mr. Santana and Mr. Affum thanked the assembly members for the confident reposed in them and promised to work assiduously towards the development of the area.
