Standard Bank Group secures $85m syndicated loan for Helios Towers
The Standard Bank Group has secured a senior syndicated financing worth $85 million for Helios Towers Tanzania (HTT), a subsidiary of Helios Towers Africa (HTA), to finance the next phase of its network of telecommunications towers across Tanzania.
The South African based bank, who acted as sole Bookrunner and facility agent, said December 6, 2011 that the financing attracted strong and broad-based interest from several local and international financial institutions.
Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, Investec Bank, National Micofinance Bank Plc, Bank of Africa Tanzania Limited and International Commercial Bank (Tanzania) Limited were the syndicate with Stanbic Bank Tanzania Limited and Standard Bank of South Africa being the Joint Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers.
This is the second financing that Standard Bank has led for HTA. The Bank first arranged for a $40 million loan to support HTA’s expansion in Ghana.
