More Irrigation dams for Bongo
Mr Clement Akugre, the District Chief Executive for Bongo, has said the government was doing its best to ensure that the living conditions of people were improved.
He said these efforts were manifested in policy interventions the government had put in place to improve agricultural productionthroughout the country.
Mr Akugre told farmers at Bongo that the Bongo District rehabilitated four dams in 2010, addingwhilst plans were far advanced to construct the Akosariga dam to serve nearby communities including Kadare, Kodoro and Goo.
He said the Apaatanga Dam, which broke its banks, wasbeing considered for repairs through the collaboration of MOFA and the World Food Programme (WFP).
Mr Akugre said the creation of more dams in the area were tailored towards an all year round agricultural production.
