Kumasi Metropolitan Security to tighten security
The Kumasi Metropolitan Security Council (MESEC), is putting in place comprehensive measures to improve security in Ghana’s second largest human settlement during the Christmas festivities.
Mr Samuel Sarpong, Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), said the yuletide was very symbolic and memorable event which ought to be devoid of incidence that had the potential to mar its significance.
“Criminals in the city are cautioned to revise their notes because the city authorities will not give them any room to operate as all criminal activities would be nipped in the bud.”
Mr Sarpong was interacting with the media in Kumasi on measures being put in place to ensure that the yuletide became enjoyable and incident-free for revelers.
He announced that the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) had secured 17 buses to reduce travellig difficulties within the metropolis during the yuletide.
Mr Sarpong cautioned drivers to shun drink-driving, drunk-driving, over-speeding and other traffic mal-practices for the safety of residents.
The MCE lauded the media for being worthy partners of development and urged them to continue to offer the necessary support for the KMA to realize its vision of transforming Kumasi into a modern city befit of its status as the Garden City of West Africa.
