Barclays Bank Regional Head for Ghana eyes top Kenyan tax job
The Regional Head of Barclays Bank in Ghana, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, Mr Adan Mohamed has entered the race for the position of Commissioner-General of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), media reports say.
The entry of Mr Mohamed, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Barclays Bank for Kenya, into the race for the top tax job has left the KRA board with a tough assignment of refereeing an epic duel that pits a strong field of insiders against high-flying outsiders, according to Kenya’s news publication Business Daily December 21, 2011.
He is an MBA graduate of the Harvard Business School and a former chairman of the Kenya Bankers’ Association.
But Mr Mohamed faces fierce competition from a macroeconomist James R Njuguna and a former Central Bank of Kenya employee James Gituro Wahome.
Mr Michael Waweru is the outgoing commissioner-general at the Kenya.
