Two killed in accident near Bonyere
Two persons were on Saturday killed when a taxi collided headlong with Hyundai passenger vehicle near Tikobo No.1, near Bonyere in Jomoro District in the Western Region.
The deceased, Augustine Elleam and Charles Menlah, both from Bonyere Junction near Bonyere in the Jomoro District, were on board the the taxi.
The Jomoro District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) John Ferguson Dzineku, made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini.
According to ASP Dzineku, Elleam sent Menlah, his sick brother in-law to Bonyere Junction for treatment.
The District Police Commander said on their way back to their home town, the taxi in which they were collided with the Hyundai vehicle some five kilometres to their destination, killing Elleam and Menlah on the spot.
ASP Dzineku said four passengers on the Hyundai vehicle, who were yet to be identified, received various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Eikwe Catholic Hospital.
The bodies of Elleam and Menlah had been deposited at the Half Assini Government hospital mortuary for autopsy while police investigations continued, he said.
