Gyan is back, starts for Ghana in Platinum, Stars match
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says striker Asamoah Gyan has recovered from his hamstring injury and will start for the Black Stars in the game against South African league side Platinum Stars today January 18, 2012.
The practice game will be played at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in South Africa.
The striker plays up front as Goran Stevanovic makes just two changes to the team that started the previous game against Bafana Bafana on Sunday, said the FA in a statement.
“Gyan, who has recovered from a hamstring injury comes in for Samuel Inkoom while Anthony Annan starts in place of Derek Boateng,” the association added.
The FA said today’s game completes preparations for the 2012 African Cup of Nations as the team departs for its base in Franceville, Gabon for the start of the tournament on Friday.

Anthony Annan was great at the mieldfield and really linked up between the defence and attack which obviously contributed to the persistent pressure on the homesters which eventually enabled Asamoah Gyan and Andre Dede Ayew to score those two quick goals. All the players performed very well. Kudos, Pablo and your colleagues.
