LESDEP registration is non-partisan – DCE
The District Chief Executive for Ahanta West, Mr. Joseph Dofoyenah, has stated that the registration of people into the Local Enterprise and Skills Development Programme (LESDEP) is non-partisan.
The government would therefore not discriminate against anyone who desired to be registered into the Programme irrespective of one’s political inclination, he added.
He said the LESDEP was instituted by the current administration to offer employable skills to the youth to reduce unemployment and alleviate poverty to accelerate national development.
Mr Dofoyenah gave the assurance at the presentation ceremony of 78 LESDEP/NYEP trainees at Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West District.
The beneficiaries were trained in sewing, catering, hairdressing, mobile phone repairing and business management.
They were presented with working tools including, hairdryers, sewing machines, burners, gas cylinders, cooking utensils and stoves.
The Western and Central Regional Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Joseph Jones Amoah, charged the beneficiaries to put the equipment to good use.
