Infrastructural development is our main concern – Akuapem South Health Director
Dr Sophia Winful, Director in-charge of health services of the Akuapem South Municipal Health Administration, has said infrastructural improvement and development is the main concern of the municipality.
Dr Winful made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after an annual performance review meeting which was attended by departmental heads, organisations, opinion leaders, companies, representative of the European Union and non-governmental organisations.
She said the health administration would ensure improvement in customer care, productivity and time management so as to achieve maximum results.
Mr Mark Dompreh Amoako, Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South Municipal Assembly who chaired the function, commended the workers and the heads of department for their good services.
He said health management in the 21st century has taken a new turn and that there has been major achievements in medical research from stem cell development to genetic restructuring.
He said more efforts should be put in to educate the public about health and health-related issues, adding that there was the need for an integrated approach with all stakeholders.
Mr Amoako said there was the need to eradicate malaria and prevent maternal and infant mortality by building a healthy workforce for the country in order to meet the Millennium Development Goal.
He urged the workers to improve their services and provide a healthier and better environment.
