African Development Bank makes three top appointments
The African Development Bank (AfDB) on February 16, 2012 announced three senior appointments following an international search process.
The new appointees include two Africans and one British. They are Mr Emmanuel Mbi, Mrs Sue Wardell and Mr Tarek Rouchdy.
Emmanuel Mbi, a Cameroonian, will be the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer. He was Director of Strategy at the World Bank.
Sue Wardell, a UK national who is currently a director at the Department for International Development (DFID) will join the AfDB team as a Vice President in-charge of Corporate Services.
Tarek Rouchdy who is the head of internal audit at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, will take the same position as the Auditor General of the AfDB. He is from Egypt.
President of the AfDB, Mr Donald Kaberuka said in a statement that “I look forward to welcoming the three colleagues to AfDB’s senior management team.”
He adds “They will play a major role in helping to carry forward the commendable work done by their predecessors, moving AfDB higher and anticipating future challenges.”
