Centre to tackle indiscipline among Zongo youth inaugurated

An NGO to help tackle indiscipline and violence among the Zongo youth was on Sunday inaugurated at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall in Kumasi.

Named “E- AALIM Islamic Centre for Counseling and Rehabilitation, it would aggressively promote education and help to bring down their high level of ignorance.

The organization would also embark on a robust campaign to discourage reckless and irresponsible conduct.

Sheikh Mohammed Nazir, the Chief Executive Officer, said it was time a more positive image was projected for the Zongo communities and that the present situation, where the Zongos tend to be associated with all forms evil, together with the exploitation and marginalization, must end.

He said the Centre with its pool of professionals would have packages for social welfare and rehabilitation and that they were determined to bring transformation to the Zongo communities.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kwaku Amoako, Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), said this could not have come at a better time considering the heat of the upcoming general elections and that the police would  work with them to ensure law and order.

    Alhamdulilahi, I was so happy when I saw this shining Light coming up.
    I know for sure that those behind E-aalim are those we need in our current world.
    I pray that,we Muslims will support this with our strength and In shaa Allah,the light will shine on us all.
