Unlicensed driver fined GH¢480
Haruna Kuribili, a washing bay attendant, was on Wednesday convicted to a fine of GH¢480 by the Kade District Magistrate’s Court for careless and inconsiderate driving, use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent and driving without a license.
Haruna will go to prison for six months in hard labour in default.
Police Inspector D.D.T Wayoe, told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu, that Haruna was working as a washing bay attendant at Akwatia.
He said on January 16, one Kwabena Amiasare sent his KIA taxi to the washing bay for washing and left for Akyem Oda to process some documents covering it.
Haruna, after washing the vehicle, moved it under the pretext of going to buy food at Boadua but lost control of the steering wheel, veered off the road and grazed two trees before stopping.
