Fire Officer advocates for fire safety fund
Mr Joy Ameyibor Ayim, Dangme East District Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, has suggested the establishment of a fire safety fund to be used for fire education campaign in the country.
Mr Ayim made the suggestion at separate fire educational forums with the Ada Traditional Council and the Dangme East District Assembly members when he toured the area.
He educated the members on causes of fire outbreaks, handling of LPG gas and evacuation of fire victims among others.
Mr Ayim said traditional rulers and assembly members were opinion leaders and therefore, must be well informed and made to understand the problems that affected the people in their areas in order to overcome them.
The Paramount Chief of Ada Traditional Area who is also the President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, pledged their support in carrying the campaign to the people to make it a success.
