Ghana Stock Exchange records another fall in second session
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, slipped 0.8 points to 1,028.22 points for the second straight session down from 1,029.02 points on Tuesday with a year-to-date return of 6.11 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also fell by 2.36 points to 889.52 points from 891.88 points with a year-to-date change of 3.06 per cent.
There were four price changes equally shared between the gainers and the losers.
State Insurance Company gained GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.39 and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited rose GH¢0.02 to GH¢1.60.
Bucking the trend, Ghana Commercial Bank shed GH¢0.02 to GH¢1.83 and Ecobank Ghana fell GH¢0.03 to GH¢3.15.
Market Capitalization closed the session marginally lower at GH¢50,820.05 million from GH¢50,824.12 million.
A total of 257,440 shares worth 295,748.96 changed hands during the session compared to 78,045 shares traded valued at GH¢52,079.25 on Tuesday.
