Government is alert to protect citizens, country – Minister

Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has reiterated that Government would not shirk its responsibility of protecting the people and ensuring the security of the nation.

He condemned the use of offensive weapons in the biometric voters’ registration exercise and said Government would ensure stability, peace and harmony in the country at all cost.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo was speaking at a durbar organized on the theme: “Unity and Progress,”  to climax the 30th anniversary celebration of Yeji Co-operative Fish Processing and Marketing Society, at Yeji in the Pru District of the region.

He cautioned that those who would foment trouble and violence before, during and after the December 7 polls would not be spared the wrath of the law.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo asked qualified Ghanaians to register ias voters to enable them to exercise their franchise in December.

Mr. Obed Peku Dzata, Regional Director of the Society assured members of transparency and accountability in the handling of their money.

He said the Society  would initiate a social responsibility project for the Yeji community.
