Government awards contract on major cocoa roads
Mr Joe Adansi-Bondah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, has reiterated the government’s determination to improve the roads in all major cocoa growing communities.
In line with this, some selected roads in the area including the Adupri-Mframakrom-Tanoso and the Asawinso-Mmerewa had been awarded on contract.
The Assembly in its small way has also been funding routine maintenance works on some feeder roads linking the cocoa farming areas.
Mr Adansi-Bondah was addressing the first ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Bibiani.
He touched on rural electricity and said a number of communities there had been hooked to the national grid. These include Chinchinase, Morno, Kwartengkrom, Donkoto, Lineso, Aboduabo and Kroboano.
The DCE said in fulfillment of the government’s principles of equity and balanced development, a total of GH¢34,980.00 from the assembly’s share of the Common Fund had been used to support people with disability in the District.
