Dr Mamudu Bawumia, running mate to Nana Addo Danka Akufo-Addo, Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that the flag bearer, is well positioned to win this year’s election.

“I want to tell you with all confidence that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will surely win the 2012 Election” he maintained.

He has therefore appealed to all NPP sympathizers and supporters to campaign vigorously for the flag bearer and expose the “lies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ghanaians to know their real character”.

Dr Bawumia said this when he addressed the chiefs and people of Bunso in the Abuakwa South Constituency as part of the party’s Eastern Regional tour.

He asked party supporters, especially the youth, to explain the good policies implemented by the NPP Administration to Ghanaians so that the party could be returned to power in 2012.

Dr Bawumia said that the victory of the party depended on the youth and asked them not to fail the people of Ghana, who were expecting the NPP to rescue them from difficulties under the Professor Mills’ led Administration.

He alleged that all the policies introduced by the NPP Government were collapsing due to poor management by the NDC Government and asked the people to work hard and return the NPP to power under the able leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.

Dr Bawumia said he still stood by his position that the single digit inflation trumpeted by the NDC did not correspond with other economic variables.

He also said the standard of living of the people had worsened since Professor Mills assumed power and challenged the government to come out with figures to prove contrary to his assertion.

Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo, former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, expressed surprise about the recent attacks on Dr Bawumia after his economic lecture, which exposed the NDC government.

He challenged the government to stop the insults and attacks on Dr Bawumia and come out with figures to refute his claim if they believed in their economic achievements.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa South, Mr Atta Akyea, said he would surely retain the seat for the party in the area.

He however appealed to the supporters to avoid complacency, and work harder to increase the votes both in the parliamentary and the presidential polls.

Nana Akufo-Addo, on Saturday began another phase of his nationwide campaign.

He and his running mate had visited Abuakwa North and Abuakwa South, and would continue to New Juaben South, Kade and New Juaben North constituencies.
