Minister believes ‘Better Ghana’ agenda is on course

Mr Victor Smith, Eastern Regional Minister, has said that the Better Ghana Agenda promised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was still on course and that more development projects would the executed.

He said with varying challenges in all sectors of the economy, the government had defied the odds and was doing more to roll out projects that were geared towards improving the lot of the less privileged in society.

The Minister said this when he addressed Heads of Departments of the Kwaebibirim District at Kade on Monday as part of his tour of the area.

The tour offered the Minister an opportunity to officially introduce himself to traditional authorities of the district.

Mr Smith also addressed the Muslim community at Akwatia  Zongo where he assured them that the government would continue to support them in diverse ways  and called on the general public to help government to deliver on its development agenda.

He said government was committed towards ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of the national cake which he said was evident in the number of social and economic infrastructure that had been provided across the country.

Mr Smith later inaugurated a six- unit classroom block for the Islamic Primary School at Akwatia Zongo and later broke the ground for the construction of a new office complex for the assembly.
