Final year students of Koforidua Nursing Training School ordered to vacate campus
Authorities of the Koforidua Midwives and Nursing Training School have ordered all the final year students to vacate the campus and report in August for their professional examination.
A final year student, who spoke to the GNA on condition of anonymity, said the school authorities requested them to write a mock examination in preparation of their professional examination in August and they explained to the authorities that as the main examination was only three Months away, it would be out of place for them to write the mock examinations.
She said “as a result of that we were sent packing from the school and those of us coming from far places are now roaming aimlessly in the Koforidua Township”.
Dr Labi Addo, Deputy Director in Charge of Clinical Care, explained to the GNA that the mock examination was aimed at preparing the students well for the impending examination in August.
He said last year only 21 percent of the students who took part in the examination passed and the school authorities thought it was proper to conduct the mock examination to enable the students to perform well in the coming examination.
Dr Addo argued that since the normal Semester had ended and the students were not willing to write the mock examinations, there was no need for them to be on campus again.
