Asante-Akim South Assembly exceeds revenue target

The Asante-Akim South District Assembly exceeded its revenue target for the first four months of the year by GH¢11,690.40, the District Chief Executive, Mr De-graft Fokuo, has announced.

It collected a total of GH¢88,584.70 compared with the targeted figure of GH¢76,894.30.

He attributed the strong performance to hard work and prudent measures put in place to prevent leakages in the revenue collection system.

Mr Fokuo, who was addressing an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Juaso, said the Assembly would continue to adopt effective strategies to expand the revenue base to bring more development to the people.

For the second time, the assembly has been selected to benefit from the District Development Fund having satisfied all the requirements of the 2010 Functional Organization Assessment Tool (FLOAT), he said.
