Tullow Oil wins Ghana local content award

Lead Jubilee operator, Tullow Oil has received a Local Content Award at the third Ghana Summit on Oil and Gas recently held in Accra, the company has announced.

In a statement June 21, 2012, Tullow said it received the award based on its implementation of policies that ensure significant participation by local companies and citizens, in both direct employment and in awarding contracts.

“We understand that promoting local content has a positive social impact as well as being a responsible business practice which enhances bottom line and reputation,” the statement quoted President and General Manager of Tullow Ghana Limited, Dai Jones as saying.

The Summit was to share experiences and discuss the challenges facing the oil industry.
