Ghanaians urged to unite to fight poverty

The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Mr Edward Nti-Berko has appealed to Ghanaians to unite in their effort to fight poverty and bring progress.

He said it would be difficult to achieve meaningful socio-economic development when the people remain divided by politics and refuse to work together.

He was speaking at a fund-raising durbar held by the chiefs and people of Beposo in aid of the construction of a mechanized water project.

Mr Nti-Berko urged supporters of the various political parties to conduct themselves well and avoid any acts that could undermine the peace in the area.

He gave high marks to them for the peaceful and success manner in which the biometric voter registration was undertaken in the district and said this should be repeated during the December polls.

He gave the assurance that the District Assembly would continue to work hard to provide the communities with good drinking water, schools and other social amenities to make life better for all.

Madam Philomena Akyaa Brobbey, Headmistress of Beposo Senior High School (SHS) used the occasion to appeal for a school bus to help ease the acute transportation problem they are faced with.

The difficulties they often go through to participate in inter-SHS sporting and other educational programmes needed to end, she added.

An amount of GH¢6,000.00 was realized at the durbar.
