The Bank of Ghana says it has not issued directives to commercial banks in the country to charge or impose fees on foreign account deposits.

In a press statement issued Monday July 2, 2012 and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com, the central banks says its attention has been drawn to continuing media reports to the effect that the Bank has instructed that banks should impose fees/charges on foreign deposits.

” The Bank wishes to reiterate to the General Public and all stakeholders that it has not issued any such directive to the banks,” it says.

I don”t believe the denial statement statement issued by Bank of Ghana.
We all know the Banks cannot on their own come out to impose charges on customers if Bank of Ghana has not issued any directives to them.
Some of us are not fools. We can read between the lines. And we know the banking laws and operations.
