Ghana holds 2nd Grand Prix July 6, American athletes arrive

International track and field athletes have started arriving in the country as Ghana looks set to hold the second edition of the Grand Prix July 6, 2012 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Organisers, the Ghana Athletes Assocaition (GAA), say the one-day event will be hosting over 45 foreign athletes and 60 locally based Ghanaian athletes.

And according to the GAA, “35 of the expected foreign athletes have already arrived.” They include an American team comprising Nichole Denby (100m hurdles), Alie Israel (100m/200m), Shericka Mozell (100m/100m hurdles), Jarod Tobler (Long Jump) and Terrell Wilks (100m/200m),

Ghana’s foreign-based athletes will also be competing in Friday’s event, the association noted.
