Business activities overshadow minute’s silence for late President Mills
Most traders and commercial drivers at the Tema Station in Accra failed to join the nation to observe a minute’s silence in honour of the late President John Evans Atta Mills as directed by the Government.
Although a handful of individuals were found standing still to observe the directive, most traders and commercial drivers were busily going about their normal duties.
Some traders told the Ghana News Agency that, although they were aware of the directive, very little was done to signify them of the moment, and so could not remember to catch up with the said time.
“We thought that we would be alerted to observe the silence”, they said.
Some commercial drivers and ‘Okada’ riders clad in mourning cloth blew their horns recklessly irrespective of the direction. They told the GNA that, it was their way of mourning the late President Mills.
