Obama announces US delegation to President Mills’s funeral
President Barack Obama has announced a delegation, to be led by the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton to attend the funeral of the Late President John Evans Atta Mills in Accra.
A press release issued from the White House Thursday August 9, 2012 says the delegation will attend the funeral service Friday August 10, 2012.
The other members of the delegation are Donald Teitelbaum, United States Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, Johnnie Carson, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, General Carter F. Ham, Commander, United States Africa Command and Grant T. Harris, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, National Security Staff.
The Late President John Atta Mills died Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the age of 68 and will be buried Friday, which has also been declared a public holiday in Ghana.
