Police commends public for orderliness at Mills’ funeral

The Ghana Police Service on Thursday commended the general public for exhibiting high sense of patriotism and orderliness as they file past the mortal remains of President John Evans Atta Mills, at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.

The Police administration said it was so far satisfied with the conduct of the public, on the first day through mid-day of the second day of the funeral for President Mills.

A statement signed by Director-General in charge of Administration, Ghana Police Service, Commissioner of Police Rose Bio Atinga, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday, urged the public to sustain the cooperation with the security agents for the rest of the funeral programme.

It assured the public of maximum security, during the remaining days for the funeral.

The mortal remains of President Mills was on Wednesday 8 August laid in state for the public to file past, till Friday, August 10, when the funeral and burial services will be held at the Independence Square in Accra.
