Construction work on the Gas Pipeline Project at Atuabo in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region has began, Mr Francis Atipo, Senior Site Supervisor of Jesus Open Doors Company, constructing firm of the project, has said.
He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Atuabo in the Western Region of Friday.
Mr Atipo said about 700 hectares of land for the project has been cleared by the Chinese Firm which is a service provider to Sontec to pave way for commencement of the project.
He said the land filling of the two project sites had started in order to ensure early completion of work.
Mr Atipo said heavy duty trucks have been moved to the sites while 20 more are expected to ensure early completion of the projects.
He said pipes to be used for the project and 37 huge containers to be used for residential and offices accommodations by the company had been sent to the sites.
The Ghana National Gas Company is being established to process Gas from the Jubilee Field for local use and export.
