Mr Hassan Ayariga – PNC flagbearer

The People’s National Convention (PNC) will launch its manifesto and outdoor its female running mate at Gwollu in the Upper West Region on September 29, 2012.

Gwollu is the birth place of Dr Hilla Limann, founder of the party. He was the first and only President of the Third Republic.

Dr Limann was overthrown on December 31, 1981 .

“Gwollu because that is where our founder was born,” the PNC flagbearer, Mr Hassan Ayariga told the Daily Graphic, adding that the PNC wanted the outdooring of its running mate and launch of its manifesto to be part of its tradition, hence its decision to go to Gwollu.

“My running mate will also be named in Gwollu. I have settled on the candidate which will be a surprise to everyone,” he said.

He said the party wanted the people of Gwollu to see and feel the new leadership of the party.

“We want  the people to be happy that a new leader who believes in them and the youth has arrived,” he said.

Mr Ayariga said the party wanted to awaken the giants in Gwollu and let them know that they were not left out in the activities of the party.

He said the PNC adored and appreciated the people in the town.

“We believe that the best place to do it is Gwollu. The event will be used to also encourage more parliamentarians to win more seats,” he said.

Mr Ayariga said work had been completed on the party’s manifesto, which was now in the keep of the General Secretary who woul distribute it to the national executives.

He said everybody would have a copy and that “they would look into it and if there is anything to be added they would do so”.

Mr Ayariga last week toured some parts of Accra to canvass for votes ahead of this year’s elections.

The tour took him to Nima, Agbogbloshie and the Rawlings Park, where he received a rousing welcome from traders and residents.

Accompanied by motor riders, Mr Ayariga interacted with the people.

Among other things, he told the people that the PNC was the party that could bring hope to Ghanaians, and therefore, urged the people to massively vote for the party on December 7.
