Iberia launches mobile booking for Ghana service
Iberia’s website has launched a new function on the cell phone-enabled version of the site, via www.iberia.mobi which allows customers to reserve any Iberia air ticket using cell phones or other mobile device.
Once booking has been made, customers flying from Ghana can pay at the Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited or the Guaranty Trust Bank within 72 hours.
The service is available via special apps for iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Windows Phone 7 device and in the Spanish, English and Catalan languages.
This was contained in a statement released by Iberia in Accra on Wednesday.
Iberia launched its mobile platform in 2008, letting customers book tickets for the Madrid-Barcelona Puente Aéreo shuttle, view flight arrivals and departures in real time, and check their Iberia Plus accounts and has now extended the service to cover all Iberia tickets and all mobile platforms, especially with business passengers in mind.
Mr Javier Pérez Ríos, www.iberia.com Deputy Manager, said “Growth of mobile traffic to iberia.com, is exponential”. “We added this function as soon as our customers began asking for it, making cell phone ticket reservation procedures simple and user-friendly. We are expecting it to be welcomed enthusiastically.”
“Customers can also use their mobile devices to verify reservations, check-in for flights, inspect special offers, view arrivals and departures and flight timetables, find telephone help lines to Iberia offices around the world, check for lost luggage, and connect to their Iberia Plus accounts” the statement said.
To mark the launch of the new service, users will be awarded double the usual number of Iberia Plus loyal programme points for tickets purchased before October 1st, 2012. The offer is valid for all Iberia Group flights (operated by Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum).
In case of reduced mobility or any special need, customers cam call a dedicated telephone line – 233 (302) 214 996 / 7.
Iberia began operations in Ghana on July 17, 2012 and flies twice a week between Accra and Madrid – Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering in Madrid easy connections to and from Iberia’s nearly 100 destinations in Spain, Europe and the Americas. Iberia operates a 122-seat Airbus A-319 on the route, equipped with the new Business Club cabin.
This 14-seat Business Club section has two seats on each side, 1.27 metres of separation between rows and an extra-large, 55-cm-wide seats of completely new design.
The Business Club meal service features original main dishes created by four of the main Spanish chefs, all of them with four stars Michelin. A selection of Spain’s most exquisite regional wines is also offered to business passengers.
