SSNIT injects GH¢8m into STC subsidiary Trust Logistics
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has injected an initial capital of GH¢8 million into Trust Logistics to reposition its operations.
That followed the acquisition of VCL Haulage Limited (now Trust Logistics), a subsidiary of STC by SSNIT in 2000.
Accordingly, officials of Trust Logistics have taken delivery of 10 Iveco Trakker heads from Tanik Ghana Limited to beef up its operations.
The fuel haulage trucks would be used to transport petroleum products across the 10 regions.
The trucks which are valued at GH¢392 million, according to the acting Managing Director of Trust Logistics, Mr Elvis Amedu, seek to reposition the company to function in the country’s emerging oil and gas industry.
He said SSNIT as the sole shareholder was determined to increase the company’s fleet to an appreciable level.
“It is in this light that officials are making sure additional fleets are added to scale up our marketing activities in all the 10 regions”, Mr Amedu said, adding Trust Logistics is further waiting to access a loan of GH¢5 million for the purchase of additional fleet and infrastructural works.
The Sales Manager of Tanik, Mr James Tandoh, who handed over the trucks, was hopeful that officials would adopt appropriate safety measures in their operations.
