Another DCE nominee rejected
The newly created Dormaa West District Assembly in Brong Ahafo Region, has rejected Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, the President’s nominee for the post of District Chief Executive.
Nine out of the 14-member assembly voted for him, representing 64.3 per cent, which fell short of two-thirds majority required for the endorsement of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives.
The voting was supervised by officials of Dormaa Central Municipal Electoral Office, at Nkrankwanta.
Mr Asamoah was the immediate past Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive, out of which the Dormaa West District was created.
The next voting to endorse Mr Asamoah’s nomination would take place within 10 days as required by law.
In another development, Mr Gordon Asubonteng, who took over from Mr Asamoah was confirmed as Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive with 100 per cent votes cast in his favour.
